EDINBURG — Mayors from the Valley’s 47 cities gathered at Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg on Thursday for an RGV Economic Summit.

EDINBURG — The city of Edinburg’s 12th annual UFO Festival kicked off its opening night on Friday, in which people across the Rio Grande Valley gathered at the Edinburg City Hall Courtyard to take part in wacky UFO activities.

The projector glows from a distance, beaming light into the night sky at the silver screen before you, and movie magic fills the evening air.

Whether snake handlers or jewelry, fishing rods or jerky, hunting gear or hats, you can find just about anything at this weekend's Texas Hunters and Sportsman’s Expo in McAllen.

EDINBURG — Lovers of Mexican art, culture and history gathered here Saturday at the courtyard of Edinburg City Hall for the 10th annual FridaFest, which honors iconic 20th century artist Frida Kahlo.

MISSION — The grounds of the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery has seen many of these ceremonies, and on Thursday morning it held another — in association with the Texas Veterans Land Board — for a veteran without a family present, but before a crowd who adopted him as their own.

McALLEN — Muggles gathered here at the McAllen Public Library on Saturday to celebrate Harry Potter’s birthday with trivia and cosplay, as one does during such occasions.
