A severe thunderstorm is moving through the Rio Grande Valley, bringing significant sized hail.
National Weather Service Brownsville issued a severe thunderstorm warning for McAllen, Mission and Pharr through 5 p.m.
“This storm will contain wind gusts to 70 MPH and two inch sized hail,” a post on social media read.
The storm was expected to continue moving southwest from McAllen.
NWS advised drivers to exercise caution in the weather.
Hail, some reaching about grape-sized, reached The Monitor’s offices at about 4:30 p.m., but the storm had significantly abated by 5.
