HARLINGEN — Former U.S. Marine Oswaldo Arriasola, an Electrical Lineworker and Management Technology student at Texas State Technical College, hopes that soon he will get the attention of potential employers in the Texas workforce.

Going, coming and just passing through: Spring bird migration begins

A unique looking mockingbird came to the birdbath as I was looking out our kitchen window recently. I grabbed a photo to try to identify it. It was not a mockingbird, but a close cousin — a gray catbird. A bird I never expected to photograph because they are not permanent residents in the Rio Grande Valley.

The Cameron County District Attorney's Office has opened an investigation into a McAllen priest who resigned after the Diocese of Brownsville on April 3 issued a statement that it had received an allegation of sexual misconduct with a minor against the priest.

Melissa Lucio could have been dead by now, executed for a crime she might not have committed. Now that her case is being reviewed, let us hope that all parties to the case — prosecution and defense — pursue true justice if a new trial is ordered.
