Bar-B-Cutie to open location in Harlingen

HARLINGEN — Fast-growing barbecue chain Bar-B-Cutie is planning to add to its Valley holdings with a new restaurant in Harlingen.

The barbecue chain already has restaurants in McAllen, Pharr and Weslaco, and will add Harlingen and Sharyland franchises, officials say.

The locations of the Harlingen and Sharyland restaurants will be announced later.

Both of the restaurants will be locally owned franchises, said Ronnie McFarland, CEO of Bar-B-Cutie franchise systems.

“It’s extremely important for our restaurant owners to actually live in their location’s community,” he said.

Both the Sharyland and Harlingen locations will offer the same menus and services as the other locations in the area including dine-in, take-out, catering and app-ordering.

“Operating as a local, family-owned BBQ joint by giving back to the community has been a main focus of Bar-B-Cutie since my grandfather began operations in the Nashville BBQ market in 1950,” Brett McFarland, a company partner, said. “Using locally grown wood to smoke our meats, including locally favorite menu items, and hosting community events such as the Back to School Supply Giveaway are a few examples of our commitment to remain committed to that focus.”
