Are your children going to be riding their bikes to school this year?
To make sure they know how to operate their bicycles safely, the Harlingen Police Department is hosting its First Annual “BI-ESCUELA” Free Bicycle Safety Course.
The event will be held from 7 to 11 a.m., Saturday at Lon C. Hill Park. Registration will run from 7 to 8 a.m. and the safety course will begin at 8 a.m. and run through 11 a.m.
The safety class will be broken up into three age groups: 3 to 5 years, 6 to 10 years and 11 and older.
Each child is asked to bring their own bicycle, helmet and water. Free snacks will be provided for the kids and officers will give away a limited number of bicycle helmets.
