San Benito CISD now accepting applications for Early College Academy

SAN BENITO — The rising price of college tuition could often be a deterrent for students, but with SBCISD’s new Early College Academy, students can save a large sum of money while getting ahead in their college career.

Through its partnership with Texas A&M Kingsville, the Early College Academy will help students save $14,000 in tuition and earn 41 college credit hours.

Students who meet the requirements set forth by the university and have passed the Texas Success Initiative Assessment will be given the opportunity to take part in the academy.

The academy is a three-year program that works within the San Benito High School and will hold its college courses at the Veterans Memorial Academy campus.

The academy is still accepting applications from incoming sophomores and transfer students until May 24.
