Sheriff’s Office looking for 2-year-old girl believed abducted in rural Mission

The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a 2-year-old girl who may have been abducted in rural Mission on Thursday morning after a custody dispute took a fatal turn.

The search is tied to a homicide the sheriff’s office is currently investigating.

Deputies discovered the body of Gilbert Gaytan, 20, in the street after responding to a domestic dispute call a little before 9:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of Pradera Street, located north of 8 Mile Road on La Homa Road.

“Preliminary investigation leads us to believe that a vehicle may have (intentionally) caused the injuries which led to the victim’s death,” said Deputy Jena Palacios, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office.

The vehicle in question is a silver 2002 Acura MDX with license plates HJM-5905.

Deputies have issued an arrest warrant for murder for the driver, Elizabeth Guerrero, 68.

Deputies are also looking for the passenger in the vehicle, 22-year-old Elizabeth K. Morales.

The child authorities are searching for, Lizsandra Jennica Gaytan, was in the vehicle with Guerrero and Morales at the time of the incident.
