A special thank you

Both my daughters chose to attend ECHS in Harlingen.

Most of the teachers at ECHS are very dedicated to helping all of the students excel at both their high school and college classes and helping them believe they can achieve anything they set their mind to.

The problem is only one teacher can be the Teacher of the Year.

Therefore, some teachers never get the recognition they deserve. One of those teachers is Mr. Rigdon. He helped both of my daughters, but especially my younger one.

Mr. Rigdon saw potential in her when she did not see it in herself. As a result of his guidance and encouragement, she joined the Engineering Club and worked on building and operating rockets, land robots and water robots.

Mr. Rigdon spent long hours after school and gave up many weekends to help the team advance.

Under his leadership, the team advanced with both their land and water robots.

My daughter went from not being sure what she wanted to do after she graduated to knowing that she wants to pursue a degree in marine biology.

That would never have happened if it were not for Mr. Rigdon. I think the entire Engineering Club would agree that he made a tremendous impact on their lives.

Thank you Mr. Rigdon.

Sincerely, Pat Roberts Harlingen
