HARLINGEN — The annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast is scheduled for March 9. It is free and open to the public and will take place from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
The annual event is supported entirely by private donations and is not affiliated with the city of Harlingen or any particular church or organization.
Tickets can be picked up at First Community Bank, 806 South 77 Sunshine Strip, and Texas Regional Bank, 2019 South 77 Sunshine Strip, in Harlingen.
Proceeds of the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast will be donated to the Family Crisis Center
This year’s, speaker will be Nevil Shed, member of the Texas Western (now the University of Texas at El Paso – UTEP) team that won the 1966 NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament national championship.
