Medical firm’s architects will open Harlingen office

HARLINGEN — To stay on top of a major investment in the Rio Grande Valley, the architecture and design firm for an urgent care company with big plans for expansion will open an office in Harlingen.

Saeed Mahboubi, an architect and president of BMH of Dallas, an architecture, design and management services firm, said his company will be hiring soon for the new office.

“We’re going to be moving some of our employees to Harlingen and we’re going to hire some local people to help us get these projects off the ground,” Mahboubi said yesterday.

BMH is working with Exceptional Health Care Inc., also of Dallas, to build a string of eight urgent care centers in the Valley stretching from Mission to Brownsville, he said.

So far, only the cities of Harlingen, Brownsville and McAllen have been named as locations. Four urgent care centers will be up and running within a year, he said, and the other four will be added in 2018.

The location of the new urgent care center near the intersection of Stuart Place Road and I-2/Expressway 83 is one of the hottest commercial development sites in South Texas.
