Cruz, Texas Republicans targets of attack

Other than being an obstructionist in the U.S. Senate, there has been little if no legislation of any consequence to aid the people of the United States of America that has been written or sponsored by Rafael Eduardo “Ted” Cruz. If anything, Cruz has shown that he is a coward, speaks through both sides of his face and is a callous, self-indulging, self-serving politician and has an enormous disdain for our democratic form of government.

Cruz is the equivalent of a chameleon. Just like a chameleon changes colors to protect itself so does Cruz, by changing positions on a subject if he senses it will be politically, and he woefully tries to explain his way out of his faux pas.

The more Cruz opens his mouth, the more I am convinced that he is an ordinary idiot, who does not bother to analyze the facts but merely shoots from the hip — or should I say, shoots from his mouth. In fact, he suffers from two ailments, constipation of the brain and diarrhea of the mouth.

He campaigns with the borrowed (stolen) slogan, “Tough as Texas.” The fact is that Cruz is weak, simple- minded, has no original thoughts and an inability to present any idea that can actually solve current problems that our country and its citizens are faced with on a daily basis. So to that end, Cruz resorts to his comfort zone and that is to be an obstructionist, just so that he can open his mouth, have someone, anyone, listen to him, and keep his ugly face in the news media.

Ted Cruz is most definitely a coward and he proves it every time he is asked a question that has gained attention in social circles, the internet, dinner discussions or raised by reporters. Just like Donald Trump, when the reporters’ questions are too tough he accuses the media of being left wing, radical or some other meaningless adjective. Cruz, define for us exactly what you mean when you say “left-wing.” For that matter, give us your definition of what a woman is.

Why is it that when you were Greg Abbott’s solicitor general, neither you nor the other “Repuglicans” (spelling intentional) did not press automobile insurance companies in Texas to cover an unborn fetus whose life was terminated as a result of an accident, allowing the companies to deny paying for the loss of those unborn? I can tell you why: Because it was not politically advantageous for you to go against the insurance industry and force them to pay for the loss of a fetus and only pay for the bodily injuries of the pregnant mother-to-be. Back then, none of you “Repuglicans” considered a fetus a human life until it had taken a breath outside of the mother’s womb.

Yet now you have jumped onto the bandwagon to curtail and prohibit women from having an abortion if they choose. You as well as those idiots Greg Abbott, Dan Patrick and Ken Paxton want to go so far as to make abortion a criminal felony for the death of a baby, even though it is a fetus. It’s the same stage of fetus development as when the automobile insurance industry denied coverage for fetuses, remember?

It is interesting to say the least that a person must be 25 years of age to rent a vehicle from some car rental companies, yet they need only attain the age of 21 to purchase a handgun or 18 to purchase an AR-15 or similar weapon. Where is the logic in that, Mr. Abbott, Mr. Paxton, Mr. Patrick and Mr. Trump?

When the British reporter Mark Stone asked Cruz a very simple question, “Is this the moment to reform gun laws?” Cruz, true to his character, retorted by saying, “You know, it’s easy to go to politics,” then began to try to get away from Stone. When the going gets tough, Ted Cruz gets going in the opposite direction, so that he does not have to face the heat. Unless he’s going to Cancun, where it is warm, and running away from the cold, freezing temperatures in Texas. Where is “Tough as Texas” Cruz? Best place to look is anywhere but where the fire — or gunfire — might be.

It seems to me that he is married to the NRA and gun manufacturers, or is so callous that he honestly does not care one bit for the innocent lives that are slaughtered by shooters. How much blood money does Cruz get from the gun lobbyists that help him sleep well at nights, when the victims’ families suffer day in and day out and their lives are shattered permanently?

Over the years I have come to realize that the only time politicians, especially Republicans, enact legislation that makes changes the people have been pleading for is when a tragedy hits close to home. Why must they wait for that to occur?

What if the next shooter, we don’t know who it might be but there will be another, shoots up NRA headquarters or general meeting such as the one held in Houston on Memorial Day weekend? What will any of you, Wayne LaPierre or Trump do then? Will you consider that to be poetic justice?
