PORT ISABEL — As the coronavirus pandemic continues to create hardships for communities, companies and groups are lending a helping hand.
Point Isabel ISD recently received personal protective equipment (PPE) masks from Ford Motor Company through RGV Lead and Ford Academy.
According to school district personnel, a philanthropy division of Ford, has focused on groups like schools, the military and food banks to distribute masks.
“Safety and the well-being of all of our staff and students is the number one priority,” Point Isabel ISD Superintendent of Schools Theresa Capistran said. “The generous donation from Ford Motor Company is another tool to use in keeping our district and Tarpon community safe.”
According to school district personnel, the masks have been distributed among all district employees and schools.
