Evander Holyfield to join RGV Boxing Hall of Fame press conference via Zoom

HARLINGEN — The RGV Boxing Hall of Fame is inviting the community to its second annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony press conference.

“This event will unveil the six distinguished retired boxers who will be inducted into the RGV Boxing Hall of Fame and will feature the presence of the legendary four-time world champion Evander Holyfield as the special guest,” organizers stated.

The event is set for 3 p.m. June 21 at the Harlingen Convention Center. Holyfield is scheduled to attend via Zoom.

“The second annual RGV Boxing Hall of Fame induction ceremony press conference promises to be an exciting event where the inductees’ names will be announced, accompanied by their remarkable achievements and contributions to the sport of boxing,” organizers stated.

“Evander Holyfield’s presence adds a touch of unparalleled excellence to the occasion, highlighting the significance of this prestigious event,” organizers stated. “This event provides an opportunity for media representatives and the community to learn more about the inductees’ exceptional boxing careers, their dedication and the impact they have had on the sport and the community. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage in a question-and-answer session with the inductees and Evander Holyfield.”

“The RGV Boxing Hall of Fame honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the sport of boxing in the Rio Grande Valley and beyond. The organization recognizes athletes, trainers, promoters and other influential figures who have left an indelible mark on the sport and continue to inspire future generations,” organizers stated.
