The Hidalgo County Courthouse closure will enter its third day Friday as crews continue to work on fixing a faulty cooling tower that is preventing the building’s air-conditioning system from working.
In a news release, officials said the new cooling unit arrived at the courthouse on Wednesday.
“County officials have determined that it would be best to remain closed during repairs and subsequent testing,” a Thursday news release stated. “All operations in the courthouse, including jury duty, will be temporarily halted.”
That release said that officials will make another determination Friday regarding when the courthouse will open.
