The Region One Education Service Center will host its annual educator job fair for individuals looking for employment at a South Texas school system next Thursday.

According to a release, educator positions include teachers, school nurses, school counselors and administrators.

For the first time this year, it says, Region One is also hosting a fair for paraprofessional and auxiliary posts, which include jobs in transportation, child nutrition, maintenance and custodial, safety and security, instructional support, office staff and substitute teachers.

“Region One area school district principals and personnel directors will be on hand, prepared to interview applicants, and in some cases, offer teaching contracts on the spot,” the release reads.

Representatives from alternative certification programs and information on the substitute teacher management system will also be on hand for those interested in pursuing a career in education or being a substitute.

Participants are asked to preregister at www.esc1.net/educator-job-fair, which will expedite the process and help participants avoid long lines.

“Prospective teacher candidates are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their resumes, certificates, transcripts, evaluations, and recommendations to share with school district representatives,” the release reads. “Paraprofessional and Auxiliary job candidates are asked to bring copies of their resume.”

Both free to attend job fairs will be held Thursday, June 8, at the Region One Education Service Center located at 1900 W. Schunior in Edinburg. The educator job fair is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., while the paraprofessional/auxiliary fair will be held from 2 to 5 p.m.

Applicants can also search http://www.esc1.net/oneapp for applications and job information, the release says.
