A child was transported to a hospital Thursday afternoon after a McAllen ISD school bus struck them while they were riding a bicycle.
McAllen PD Spokesperson Joel Morales said the accident happened just after 4 p.m. in the 1300 block of S. 17th 1/2 street and that the child’s injuries appear to be non-life threatening.
“The cause of the collision remains under investigation,” he said.
The child is nine years old, McAllen school district spokesman Mark May said.
