Man sought for allegedly stealing over $7,000 from Elsa hair salon

The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man accused of stealing around $7,500 from a hair salon in Elsa last week, according to a news release.

On Sept. 21, deputies responded to a hair salon located at 10600 E. Monte Cristo Road at about 4:20 p.m. in reference to a burglary report.

The victim told police that someone entered the building and stole nearly $7,500 in cash from their register. Authorities were provided surveillance video of a man breaking into the shop.

Police described the perpetrator as a male possibly in his late teens to early 20s with a beard, standing 5 feet and 3 inches tall with a stocky build and light skin tone.

Authorities also said he was wearing a cap, shorts and flip-flops.
