COMMENTARY: Losing the war for America?

By Jim N. Taylor, Special to the Star

They say we are a divided nation, but not for the actual root cause: Our Revolution against the British, our Civil War against slavery, WW II against fascism/socialism , and the winning of the Cold War against Communism were all just a part of the ongoing American effort to live up to the words of our founding documents: The Declaration of Independence and our Constitution as written.

As well, all of our domestic conflict has nearly all been a part of this same war between those who found themselves on opposite sides of some portion of the ideals of our Constitution: the most moral and just of all nations’ founding documents thus far.

Some see the Constitution as moral because it agrees with the morality of the religion that most Americans once had. The brevity and clarity of the documents would seemingly preclude misunderstanding; but we also have “The Federalist” papers exchanges between and from our Founders before, during and after the Constitution’s writing and acceptance which leave no doubt as to how their words were to be interpreted.

Yet, there are always those who wish to ignore the existence of law and behave as they wish, by interpreting plain words to have a meaning as they wish instead of those actually written and intended.

The pressure against the founding or original principles from those searching for a shortcut to need satisfaction is called by different names in different cultures, but in America it is called progressive liberalism: liberalism because it seeks escape from principle and progressive because it increases in scope and insistence with time. The shortest definition I have read for progressive liberalism is: Cultural degeneration through the legitimization and/or normalization of deviate behavior.

Progressive liberals (Plibs) have their disorder because they have accepted some basic erroneous assumptions and/or denied other correct ones into their personal philosophy to the point that they are dissonant with at least a portion of reality. As if they had never learned that human nature is as unchangeable as truth for which our Constitution was written and is not easily changed. We do not have the power to have any nature we choose, or to change truth by rewriting it.

How Plibs (progressive liberals) Threaten the Republic: Loss of Freedom of Speech: Note the “Cancellation Culture” wherein college students and Plib professors prevent the speaking of invited conservative notables; where celebrities known to have made conservative statements are denied venue; where jobs are lost or hiring denied for conservative comment, etc.

Loss of the Right to Keep and Bear Arms: The first step to totalitarianism by Socialism is the disarming of the citizenry (most recently done in Venezuela); several of the Democrat political candidates (for Congress and President) admitted that disarming us was their goal.

Loss of National Sovereignty: Invasion by illegal immigrants has been encouraged by our Plib court system and most Democrats want open borders (regardless of the effect on all types of illegal passage, such as drugs) with some candidates threatening to legalize invasion and eliminate present border barriers. Dem leaders propose allowing continued violation of international patent laws and theft of intellectual property by providers of low cost merchandise; including what replaces our national security materiel and skilled labor jobs.

Loss of privacy and political freedom: Liberties have been taken both by private big tech corporations and government agencies with private personal or proprietary information through unprotected computerized activities over which citizens have lost control; identity theft is rampant. Monopolistic tech companies resist regulation successfully through bribery while preventing the dissemination of conservative political, educational or promotional information.

Loss of Fiscal Solvency and Currency value:Progressivists in both Parties refuse to reign in entitlement and unfunded mandate vote-buying spending while the annual deficit growth approaches/surpasses the trillions mark, registered debt is over $32 trillion and unfunded mandates could add up to another $200 trillion debt, if they were actually accounted for in the debt.

Loss of the Right to Property (Socialism): All 25 Democrat Presidential candidates (2020) espoused some or all of Socialism, promising enormous taxes on income and wealth, which would end the American Dream, and any reason to invest here.

Loss of the Constitution: With so many of our freedoms under successful attacks, it becomes logical to expect that the Constitution will become passé and be eventually overlooked entirely in future legislation as progressivists continue to gain political ground.

Moral and Cultural Decline: Degrading vocabularies are common on the street, by politicians, in entertainment, before families and mixed company. We expect and accept that we will be lied to by politicians, we know advertisement will deceive us; while we know for certain that fake news against conservatism will be presented on almost all of the open access TV channels and except for two on sat/cable channels; and that we’ll get only one side of the story on any channel or radio station or newspaper. Almost no work can be hired without a written contract, and we watch our insurance companies get cheated every time we get healthcare service or an auto accident repair.

The neo-socialists and “new elite” progressivists push our innocent children into transgenderism and LGBTQ lifestyles (whether we like it or not) and we learn about it when our kids “come out”? In my lifetime we went from 3% illegitimate children to 25% to 75% (depending on race) born out of wedlock. Major cities, run by progressivist politicians for years, allow large downtown populations of the homeless, mentally ill and addicted to strew their excrements and dwell there in their filth.

The loss of America: They own our largest political party; They own our government bureaucracies; they own our information (misinformation) news broadcasting; they own our universities and teaching profession; they own our K-12 schools; they own our labor/employee unions; they own our entertainment industries; they own our big tech, information and social networking companies; they own most of the legal profession; they own a huge portion of our national and international industrial complex.

Have we not already lost America?
