A lasting legacy: Pioneer for farmworkers’ rights in South Texas dies

Genoveva Puga was a longtime advocate for farmworkers’ rights. She died on Sunday, Nov. 15, in Alamo at the age of 92. Her son, a farmworker, was killed as a result of equipment malfunction, this propelled Puga to fight for all of farmworkers’ rights — even after the victory in her son’s case.
