The San Benito Police Department says as a precaution it is closing the lobby to the department’s lobby area.
In a Facebook post, the department said officers will continue to patrol the city. However, minor offenses will only be handled by phone.
Walk-in services provided by police will be discontinued until further notice. Inmates will not be allowed to have any visitors with the exception of their attorneys.
