The District Library and Media Services Department held their 6th Annual Battle of the Books Competition for the district’s middle schools.
Congratulations to Riverside Middle School for their first place win! Berta Cabaza Middle School won second place, and Miller Jordan Middle School won third place.
Students and their coaches were required to read five books – “The Night Diary” by Veera Hiranandani, “The First Rule of Punk” by Celia C. Perez, “In the Shadow of the Sun” by Anne Sibley O’Brien, “Restart” by Gordon Korman, and “The Storm Runner” by J.C. Cervantes. They then competed against other teams in a trivia style competition.
