The District Library and Media Services Department held their 6th Annual Battle of the Bluebonnet Books Competition for the district’s elementary schools.
Congratulations to the Dr. Raul Garza, Jr. STEAM Academy for their first place win! La Encantada Elementary won second place, and the Ed Downs Fine Arts Academy won third place.
Students and their coaches were required to read five books – “Wishtree” by Katherine Applegate, “The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl” by Stacy McAnulty, “Me, Frida, and the Secret of the Peacock Ring” by Angela Cervantes, “The Adventures of a Girl Called Bicycle” by Christina Uss, and “The Magic Misfits” by Neil Patrick Harris. They then competed against other teams in a trivia style competition.
