Man, 31, charged in stolen car case

PRIMERA — A 31-year-old man has been arrested after he was found inside a stolen vehicle, police said.

According to a press release by the Primera Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of El Paso Circle in reference to a stolen vehicle report.

The officers located Jose De Jesus Moncivaiz, Primera inside the stolen vehicle, police said in the release. The vehicle was located in the 3500 block of West Alton Gloor in Brownsville. Authorities had the assistance of the On-Star locator system and the Brownsville Police Auto theft task force.

During the course of the investigation it was found that Moncivaiz was in possession of several Social Security cards and other identification items that did not belong to him, police said. Police said it was also determined that Moncivaiz had committed a total of three burglaries of vehicles prior to him stealing the vehicle that he was found in possession of.

Moncivaiz was charged with three counts of burglary of a vehicle, one count of fraudulent use or possession of identifying information, and one count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, police said. Bond was set at $37,500.
