PI PD retrieves captured fugitive

PORT ISABEL — A captured fugitive in central Texas ended up being a man on the run from this coastal city, authorities said.

On Jan. 11, Port Isabel Police Department officers traveled to Bell County to retrieve 40-year-old captured fugitive David Dwayne Young.

According to Port Isabel Chief of Police Robert Lopez, a report was made in December 2019 by a female.

“He was living in Port Isabel and the female moved in with him to live with him,” Lopez said about the report. “They began an ongoing physical abuse where she would get physically abused, beat up and so forth until it led to a sexual assault.”

According to Lopez, Young was charged with two counts of sexual assault and each charge had a $25,000 bond.

Additionally, Young received three counts of evasive recording, Lopez said.

“So in other words, this guy was recording what he was doing to her,” Lopez said.

Each evasive recording count had a $7,500 bond.
