STC students gain experience renovating armored vehicle for Edinburg SWAT

The Edinburg Police Department — together with South Texas College’s Architectural and Engineering Design Technology, Automotive/Diesel, Advance Manufacturing and Welding programs — unveiled a new SWAT vehicle for the department on Wednesday. Issued to Edinburg police from the U.S. military, the armored vehicle were renovated by STC students, who applied their knowledge and experience to the task. Edinburg PD owns three SWAT vehicles to be used in high-risk operations.
