Jack Ingram, Charley Crockett to headline Pharr’s Christmas Posada

The city of Pharr has announced the entertainment for this year’s annual Christmas Posada.

The Christmas Posada is scheduled from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, in downtown Pharr.

Headlining the event will be acclaimed country singer Jack Ingram, whose career spans over 20 years. He is known for such songs as “Wherever You Are,” “Lips of an Angel,” “Maybe She’ll Get Lonely,” and “Barefoot and Crazy,” among others.

He was 2008’s Best New Male Vocalist by the Academy of Country Music.

Opening for Ingram will be San Benito native Charley Crockett. “The San Benito Kid” recently made his debut at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on June 25. His new album, “The Valley,” was released on Sept. 20.

The event will also feature a performance by Austin native Mia, who in 2018 won a Tejano Music Award for Best New Artist. At just 11-years-old, Mia became the youngest winner of a Tejano Music Award.

According to a news release, the Christmas Posada will have carnival rides, ice skating, pictures with Santa Claus, story time with Mrs. Claus, a Grinch’s Village, a Polar Express Experience, Elsa and an ice village, among other fun festivities.

The event will be free to the public.
