Road rage murder postponed on eve of openings

EDINBURG — The jury trial for 33-year-old man accused of shooting and killing a 27-year-old man during a “road rage” incident was postponed at the last minute.

Fabian Paredes

Opening arguments in the case of Fabian Paredes were scheduled to begin Wednesday morning, but the parties were unable to pick a jury.

Paredes is accused of shooting Joshua David Sanchez once, killing the man, Oct. 9, 2017, at about 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of 10th Avenue and West McIntyre Street — right outside the Hidalgo County Courthouse where he now faces a trial on a charge of murder.
