SOUTH PADRE ISLAND — A night filled with food, drinks and live music is in store for people looking to help a good local cause.
Sea Turtle, Inc. will host its annual fall fundraiser, Tastes and Toddies with the Turtles, Saturday, Sept. 14, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the facility’s Education Complex.
The event will include silent and live auctions, live music, spirits and brew tastings and food.
Live music will be played throughout the night by Beaux, FunkyT and the Katz and Jewel Marie & the Blitz. Tickets cost $50 and are available for purchase online at https:// tinyurl.com/y4mkulx4.
Sea Turtle, Inc. personnel are currently seeking donations such as gift certificates, gift baskets and jewelry for the auctions. Funds raised from the event will go toward the remodeling of Sea Turtle, Inc.’s rehabilitation facility, which will include a full-sized veterinary clinic and housing for interns. According to Sanjuana Zavala, Sea Turtle, Inc. Marketing and Public Relations Manager, the nonprofit is hoping to start renovations and construction of the project next year.
“The area, the building and the shacks are from 1999,” Zavala said. “So, it’s a good time for its renovation.”
Sea Turtle, Inc. personnel describe the annual fundraiser as a “community-driven” event and say they are anticipating a wonderful evening.
“We invite the community, our supporters and anyone who loves Sea Turtle, Inc. that wants to give back in a different way,” Zavala said. “We hope to have a great audience and have donations come in because everything counts.”
