Multi-agency disaster center opening in La Feria

HARLINGEN — Cameron County officials will open a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) today to serve as a one-stop shop to enable county flood victims to connect with disaster-related community services.

The MARC, which will operate in coordination with the American Red Cross, will be located at the La Feria Safe Room/Dome at 1001 Pancho Maples and will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Separate MARCs will be opening in Willacy and Hidalgo counties. For information on location and times of operation, contact the Red Cross at 956-423-0523.

Services available include case management, mental health, emotional and spiritual care, medical assistance, gift cards, home clean-out registration, mosquito control supplies and other resources.

There is no charge for using these services.

English and Spanish-speaking operators are available to assist as needed.
