Some of us old white (Gringo) men are not concerned with whether or not either you or we are being fair. We just wish to be accurate: truth is not concerned with fairness.
No white person can speak the truth without being called racist; so please, call me racist. Also, feel free to generalize about my motives, if it makes you feel better.
There are several ways to define invasion (English dictionary?); for those of us who do not agree with having (probably) 26 million illegally present aliens (and with 200,000 more pouring in monthly), invasion fits very well.
As (still) the biggest part of the half of our population paying for welfare, we are justified in asking that immigrants be qualified in some needed skill or profession; other countries require this and responsible sponsors for all immigrants.
Why should we be different? Are all other nations wrong, or just some of us in the USA?
Few of us would reduce the number of legal immigrants to less than two million to three per year, as long as they are qualified, authorized and legally present.
We need qualified workers because we abort our own babies and our birth rate is decreasing. The problem of nonassimilation has noticeably divided us; why would you support this?
Muslims are prohibited by their creed to assimilate (read it).
Are we wrong to think that the constant inflow of Latinos will eventually make our culture into one similar to south of the border?
You were born here – have you ever lived south of the border? How far? We did, for 23 years.
As to the cost of illegal immigration: it is published several times daily on One American News (channel 347/Direct TV), and it is a staggering amount of billions.
You say immigrants are not eligible for welfare, but public statistics say that over half of both legal and illegal immigrants are welfare-subsidized; who is wrong ? But you admit that they do use public services in “humming economies”?
Few illegals pay payroll tax; most of them get paid outside of reported rolls or in cash by those who are trying to save money on labor cost at the expense of the country.
Some who have stolen SS numbers pay payroll taxes; you forgot to mention that particular crime.
You say illegals will never collect Social Security; but they will reduce legal salaries and employment of citizens and legals who would have been able to pay and not be on unemployment from jobs lost to illegals.
So the contributions by illegals to payroll taxes and sales taxes are more than nullified.
No constituency for open borders?
What do you call a majority Democrat Congress that refuses to adequately fund immigration control, border control, wall/ fence construction and even medical/care supplies for attending sick sanctuary liars; and most of all, refuse to close the loopholes and invitations in our immigration laws.
Their constituencies must be a majority of Democrats. You don’t listen to the real news channels? Just MSNBC, CBS, ABC and CNN?
You still compare immigrants from Europe in the past to those we get after we formed the welfare state.
The Europeans were white immigrants and you say complaints by native whites were racist? Impossible.
Xenophobia, maybe? O.K., accepted. But they were not freeloaders. They had at least that respect.
Invitation by jobs? As many do, I wish illegal hiring was prohibitively expensive.
Nobody resents that you have an opinion that not all homegrown Latinos have. Nobody cares that you are another Trump hater. We know Trump should get informed before he shoots off his mouth.
My wife is Latina. We forgive Trump’s ignorance on a few things for his knowledge on most others.
If we accepted only politicians who stick to the facts, we would not have a government. Your rationality is flawed more than that of the people you accuse of racism and bigotry?
You disparage nationalism? Is it wrong to wish for an America with controlled access so we can maintain better order and build a better place with the money we might save?
What’s wrong with having one nation in the world that is worth protecting?
Did not white people make your life and your entire family’s life possible? Are we the nationalists you resent so much?
Think about it.
I’m unsure why I expected you to be less emotional and more logical in your approach.
