Chamber golf tournament to benefit Emergency Fund

HARLINGEN – The Harlingen Chamber of Commerce will host its 18th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, with partial proceeds to benefit the Harlingen Professional Firefighters Association Local 3403 Emergency Assistance Fund.

The 18-hole scramble, to be held at the Tony Butler Municipal Golf Course, includes food and beverages, an awards ceremony and raffle prizes.

“Our experience and relationship with the Harlingen Area Chamber of Commerce has been nothing short of incredible. By choosing to donate part of the proceeds from some events they host to the Harlingen Professional Fire Fighters Charity Foundation, the chamber has proven that they share in our passion and dedication to rise above and give back to our citizens and community when they need us most,” Evan Mann, HPFFA Local 3404 President, stated in a press release. “It is through helping others, that we truly help ourselves. We look forward to seeing a great turnout at the 18th Annual Golf Tournament.”

The Emergency Assistance Fund is used to help families and community members who have been directly affected by a devastating emergency or tragedy, such as a home loss due to a structure fire, an auto-pedestrian accident, etc.

Charlie Clark Nissan is the Title Sponsor for this year’s golf tournament. Additional sponsors include Harlingen Medical Center, Platinum Surgery Center, Frost Bank, Valley Baptist Medical Center and Dr. Nolan Perez, MD of Gastroenterology Consultants of South Texas, PA.
