Armed robbery ends in multiple arrests

Harlingen Police say they arrested five teens and recovered stolen property, including a stolen Ford Edge linked to various home robberies in the Valley.

Monday night police were called to a home on the 1300 block of Dixieland Road in reference to a possible robbery.

The victim told them several men forced themselves into his home and used a knife to steal electronics and miscellaneous items, as well as his 2018 blue Ford Edge.

The suspects reportedly fled the area in a white KIA Soul and the victim’s SUV.

Hours later, a Cameron County Sheriff’s deputy located the KIA and tried to stop the men. After a short pursuit, he arrested two of the men and notified Harlingen police.

Justin Lara, 18, of La Feria; Damien Alvarez, 17, of Harlingen; Bryce Fronapfel, 17, of Harlingen; and Jesus Ravell, 17, of Mercedes are charged with aggravated robbery and engaged in organized criminal activity. Their bonds are each $250,000.

The fifth suspect, Augustin Juarez, 17, of Harlingen, is charged with theft and engaged in organized criminal activity. His bonds total $7,500.
