Financial literacy training today

RAYMONDVILLE — The Raymondville Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the U.S. Small

Business Administration (SBA), is hosting a free financial literacy training this afternoon for entrepreneurs, existing small businesses and anyone considering starting their own business as part of National Financial Literacy Month.

The training will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Raymondville Chamber of Commerce, 700 FM 3168.

Topics of discussion will include the importance of understanding credit, becoming financially ready for business ventures and managing a budget.

“It is always important to work on financial fundamentals to help expand not just business credit but personal credit for better opportunities in life,” Reynaldo D. Vasquez, Economic Development Specialist with the SBA Lower Rio Grande Valley District Office, stated via email. “You are not alone, resources are available to help people learn and grow financially.”

Along with Vasquez, presenters will include Esmeralda Gonzalez, with BBVA Compass, and Sergio Salazar, with COMMUNITIES Unlimited.
