HARLINGEN — It’s that time of the year again to shuffle the cards and roll the dice for a good local cause.
The Humane Society of Harlingen will host its third annual Wine and Whiskers fundraiser at the TSTC Cultural Arts Center Saturday, March 30, starting at 7:30 p.m.
The fundraiser will feature an array of activities including more than 100 door prizes and silent auction items, dancing, food and drinks, live music and casino games.
Presale tickets cost $50 and can be purchased at the Humane Society of Harlingen or Key Mortgage.
Tickets purchased at the door the day of the event will cost $60.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
All funds raised from the event will go toward Humane Society of Harlingen to help provide necessities such as food, cage cleanings and vetting for more than 6,000 animals the facility takes in.
Sandra Pope, an event planner out of McAllen, “donated her talent” for the fundraiser.
With the theme being “Casino Night,” Humane Society of Harlingen Executive Director Lilia Castillo Jones said the “magic of the event” will begin as soon as attendees walk into the room.
In addition to having a new look, this year’s fundraiser will also be hosted in a new location.
In prior years, the Wine and Whiskers fundraiser was held at Jackson Square Events Center, but the fundraiser outgrew the venue.
According to Jones, this year’s event will be the largest Wine and Whiskers fundraiser yet, which is why more space was needed.
“Each year it’s grown and everyone always has a really great time,” Jones said. “You don’t want to miss out on the event.”
