Russian virtuosos to perform in Harlingen

HARLINGEN — A little bit of Russia is coming to the Harlingen Municipal Auditorium as internationally-renowned accordionist Sergei Teleshev and his colleague, violinist Natasha Popova, are set to take the stage on March 9 as part of the Harlingen Concert Association’s 2018-2019 season.

Teleshev, a classically-trained musician who studied at the Academy of Music in Voronezh, Russia, will perform a wide variety of music, from the music of Johann Sebastian Bach to jazz and even some new age. A winner of several international accordion competitions, Teleshev also teaches master classes, online accordion lessons and educational programs.

Popova, who is also a singer, actress and dancer, attended the prestigious Gnessin Russian Academy of Music and has performed with major orchestras in Russia, Germany and Switzerland. A winner of international violin competitions, she has also appeared in several Russian movies and TV series.

Tickets for the performance are $35 and are available online at www.HarlingenConcert.com and at the Auditorium box office, 1204 Fair Park Blvd., Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Tickets may also be purchased one hour before the performance.
