Concerned with Catholic exodus

The Catholic Church here in the Rio Grande Valley should be alarmed as millennials and their children continue their exodus to evangelical churches.

This is further evidenced during Mass services, wherein more pews are emptied than filled and worshippers are literally geriatrics. On the other hand, evangelical churches keep on mushrooming and adding more services to accommodate the influx of ex-Catholics, including from Mexico and other countries.

Furthermore, the Catholic hierarchy has been continuously neglecting the spiritual needs of people in the periphery. They have an absent, external and anemic internal evangelization. The recent sex abuses scandal just adds more fuel to the fire.

No one should be surprised if many churches will close in the very near future. Prayers will be inadequate by then!
