Laguna Vista PD issues bullet proof vests to officers

LAGUNA VISTA — The Laguna Vista Police Department received eight ballistic vests last week at no cost to the city.

Earlier in the year the department had been awarded a $4,296 grant from the governor’s office for the purchase of the vests.

These 20 pound body armors are rated to stop large caliber, armor piercing, rounds coming from weapons such as riffles or handguns.
