DA raids 8-liner arcade inside San Benito home

The Cameron County District Attorney’s Office says two people were arrested when they raided an 8-liner operation outside of San Benito on Tuesday.

The raid took place in a residential neighborhood off of FM 732 in what the DA describes as a converted house. The dark blue wooden structure was unfinished from the inside with two-by-fours and wall insulation visible.

Nearly every room in the home appears to be filled with 8-liners. A sign hanging on a wall warns players “play at hour own risk.”

A small handmade poster says the game room is open from 1 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Officials say aside from the arrests they seized 30 video arcade machines with the help of the Homeland Security Investigation’s White Sands Task Force.

The names and charges of those arrested have not been released.
