Valley Baptist in Harlingen now offers most advanced imaging technology

HARLINGEN— Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen is leading the way in Cameron County in imaging services by now offering 3 Tesla MRI Imaging (3T MRI).

The 3T MRI is the most advanced imaging technology of its kind and setting the standard in medical imaging.

The 3T MRI is twice as powerful as previously used 1.5T machines, producing clearer images of anatomical detail in shorter periods of time and offers advantages in diagnosing patients affected by brain, spine and musculoskeletal afflictions.

Healthcare teams are able to diagnose and treat patients in a faster succession, leading to more favorable outcomes.

“Valley Baptist-Harlingen being part of the Valley Baptist Neuroscience Institute and designated a Comprehensive Stroke Center, we are committed to offering patients with the highest quality of care,” said Joey Govea, Director of Imaging Services for Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen.

“The 3T changes outcomes for our patients because we are now able to diagnose them much faster.”

With its enhanced capabilities, patients are less likely to have to return for additional appointments and scans.

The increased image clarity revealed by 3T is particularly beneficial for pathological conditions involving the brain, spine, and musculoskeletal system.

3T machines are less constricting, providing patients a better MRI experience.

“Valley Baptist continues to improve the quality of care provided to patients of Cameron County.

Investing in the 3T allows us to provide a better patient experience and outcome.” said Govea.
