Volunteers are needed all along the Texas coast to clean the state’s most popular tourist beaches.

Each volunteer will be given trash bags and gloves, plus data cards and pencils to document the trash they gather.

“The Texas Coast is a go-to destination for vacationers from all over,” said Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush. “Late last summer Hurricane Harvey ravaged the Texas coast, but the recovery is well underway and this is an opportunity for folks to pitch in and declare that the Texas coast is back in business.”

Three beaches in the Valley will be sites of cleanups:

  • Boca Chica Beach
  • Andy Bowie Beach
  • Beach Access No. 3 which is located on Gulf Boulevard between Palm and Corral Streets.

Registration at each location begins at 8:30 a.m. with cleanups running from 9 a.m. to noon.
