Workshop to teach business plans

HARLINGEN — Thinking of starting a business?

Some help is on the way.

The U.S. Small Business Administration is partnering with the Women’s Business Center of Cameron County to host a free informational workshop, Friday.

Participants will learn the importance of business plans, drafting an effective business proposal and beginning the loan application process.

The workshop will prepare future or current business owners with information on creating a proper business plan and approaching potential lenders.

The workshop is part of a series aimed at helping small business owners and potential business owners build and maintain their business effectively.

Once a month for eight months, the U.S. Small Business Administration will host a free workshop on business planning.

Each month will focus on a new area necessary to run a successful business.

Sessions also provide the opportunity for participants to engage with state, federal and local business resource agencies.

Upcoming sessions will provide information on business certifications, credit and marketing.

Workshops will be presented by Greenpath Debt Solutions, UTRGV Small Business Development Center and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center.

Each workshop has limited space and those interested in attending the workshops are asked to RSVP with Veronica Ortega.
