What not to wear

Amid all this hubbub concerning who takes inappropriate advantage of whom, whether in public or in the office, there are important considerations not discussed, such as clothing styles.

During my teen years, starting in year 1942, I paid close attention to my mother’s wise and firm admonition concerning by general appearance when appearing in school or in public.

I can remember to this day, her inspection comment and if my clothing was slightly smudged or badly wrinkled she would say, “You’re not leaving this house looking like that … remember you are what you look like.”
