BROWNSVILLE — Residents within the San Benito Consolidated Independent School District’s boundaries will be able to make their property tax payments at the Cameron County Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office starting next year.
Personal and real estate taxes, whether current or delinquent, can be paid at 1390 W. Expressway 83 in San Benito starting Jan. 2. Also, San Benito CISD taxpayers will be able to make property tax payments at any county tax office.
Cameron County Tax Assessor-Collector Tony Yzaguirre Jr. announced the partnership this week. The agreement aims to eliminate duplication of services, reduce costs and be more convenient for taxpayers, he said in a news release.
San Benito CISD mailed its 2017 tax bills in October, and Yzaguirre said his office will send reminders.
