Constitution Day

Sept. 17, 1787 is known as Constitution Day. On this date, 39 out of the 55 original delegates from the 13 states at the Constitutional Convention signed the U.S. Constitution.

This date was the last time these delegates met ending several months of hard work and perseverance, creating one of the most important documents in American political history.

On June 21, 1788, the Constitution officially became a part of this country’s new plan of government when New Hampshire approved it. Reaching a ¾ majority vote.

This date has become an American federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the Constituion and individuals who have become U.S. citizens.

If only our local, state and federal appointed and electd officials would just follow the principles set forth by the U.S. Constitution, the stte of government affairs would be better.

God bless the Framers of the U.S. Constitution. God bless America.
