One man died and another was injured after a single vehicle crash at approximately 10:46 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 281 south of the Hidalgo County Line, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

The driver, who has not been identified, lost control as he was driving southbound in a Dodge Ram and veered off the roadway, rolling over several times, according to DPS’ preliminary investigation.
The passenger, 38-year-old Mario Alberto Perales of Edinburg, was ejected from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was taken to Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance for observation.
