Valley goes to the rescue

HARLINGEN — The Valley is mobilizing to send relief.

Hurricane Harvey ripped through Texas yesterday leaving behind massive flooding, destroyed homes and downed power lines everywhere.

But the relief efforts began immediately.

In Harlingen, the Red Cross office saw a flurry of activity as volunteers gathered supplies and began heading to the areas of devastation. That included cities where some 300,000 customers were without power — just in the Coastal Bend area alone.
