HARLINGEN— Local law enforcement is looking to serve in more ways than one.
The Tip-A-Cop event will have the officers adding an apron to their uniforms tonight from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Texas Roadhouse off South Expressway 83.
Officers will be there to serve tea, water and bread for donations in support of the Area One- Rio Grande Valley athletes.
Money donated will help Special Olympics Texas to provide programming and training for children and adults.
Tip-A-Cop is a part of a statewide fundraising event with over 50 locations across Texas participating.
Similar events are being held at the Texas Roadhouse in Brownsville and McAllen
