Family hears from missing girl, police want to know she is safe

HARLINGEN — Police have issued a welfare concern for a missing Harlingen High School graduate who was last seen Monday.

The family of Brianna Becerra, 18, reported her missing to Harlingen police today, at approximately 10:15 a.m. Brianna was last seen in person at the family’s home on the 500 block of North “A” Street about 7 pm Monday.

City Lake is located right across the street from the Harlingen Public Library where 76 Dr meets Jefferson Avenue.

Family members say they have been in contact with Brianna by electronic means in the past two days and again just before lunch today.

The Harlingen Police Department and her family are encouraging Brianna, and anyone with information on her to contact the Harlingen Police Department.

HPD would like to confirm with Brianna that she is safe.

Brianna is described as 5-foot 3-inches tall, 126 pounds, with brown eyes and long brown hair. She was last seen wearing a black Harlingen cardinal’s shirt, blue jeans and yellow sandals.

HARLINGEN – Police have confirmed a recent Harlingen High School graduate has been reported missing. Brianna Becerra, 18, was last seen Monday around 7 p.m.

According to her sister Julissa, Brianna told their mother she was going for a walk at City Lake.

“We live two minutes away from city lake,” Julissa said. “She said she would return that same night at 10 p.m. or sooner.”

Brianna never came back and her sister has not heard from her since.

Brianna was last seen wearing a black Cardinal’s T- shirt with a big red “H” on the front, jeans and yellow flip flops. She graduated from Harlingen High School Friday night.
