Harlingen robbery suspect identified

HARLINGEN — Police have identified a man they say robbed the Quick Run convenience store on North Commerce Street Saturday night.

Miguel Angel Flores, 34, currently has two active warrants out for his arrest in connection to this recent crime and another burglary at the 1100 block of E. Jackson that same day.

He was also identified as the man who robbed the Quick Run at 10 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Police were called to the 2000 block of North Commerce Street where a clerk told them a Hispanic man approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a black shirt, black pants and long sleeves (possibly to cover his tattoos) entered the business through the west side vehicle entrance.

She said the man, later identified as Flores, walked into the employee area and asked her for rolling papers, police said.

Police say the suspect attacked the woman and demanded money. They say he held her by the neck and forced her to open the cash register while threatening her with a knife.

The man took the cash and ran. The clerk was unharmed.

If anyone recognizes the suspect they are asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (956) 425-TIPS (8477).
