Safety No. 1 priority

Why are Democratic politicians like Filemon Vela, liberal Republicans (RINOS), as well as countless liberal organizations, so adamantly opposed to building a wall or doing whatever it takes to secure our southern border?

Shouldn’t the safety of U.S. citizens be the number one priority of lawmakers, law enforcement, and our Federal Government?

Congressman Vela, Democrats in general, as well as liberal Republicans consider Mexico to be one of America’s closest allies.

Say with friends like Mexico, America doesn’t need any enemies.

Why do I say that? Because the vast majority of illegal drugs that are responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of Americans every single year are smuggled into America from and/or through Mexico.

According to Wikipedia, from 11/1/1955 to 4/30/1975, a total of 58,315 Americans were killed in Vietnam.

In contrast, from a www.chicagotribune. com article – More than 50,000 overdose deaths: A grim tally soars to all time US high: “According to government data released Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016, drug overdoses in the US surpassed 50,000 in 2015 (52,404 from prescription and illegal drugs according to CDC stats),…”

From About Addiction – Crack cocaine statistics: “… an estimated (one) million regular users of crack cocaine in the United States …”

It doesn’t end there. There’s the drug related homicides, suicides, robberies, burglaries, broken families, wasted lives, etc.,etc …

From a 2/14/17 www.thoughtco.com article – Putting Gun Death Statistics in Perspective: “… in Baltimore, the police commissioner states that 80% of homicides are drug related”.

From the Wikipedia article on former actor Hugh O’Connor, (actor Carroll O’Connor’s adopted son): On March 28, 1995, the third anniversary of his marriage, O’Connor called his father to tell him he was going to end his life.

He told his father he believed he could not beat the drugs and could not face another rehabilitation program.”

Hugh O’Connor had fought drug addiction for half his life.

To all the drug related misery in America, add the tens of thousands of men, women, and children killed in Mexico’s drug cartel violence.

Cnn.com – Report: Mexico was second deadliest country in 2016: Mexico’s drug war claimed 23,000 lives in 2016 — second only to Syria”.

Why isn’t everything possible done to secure the porous southern border by both the U.S. and Mexico?

In my opinion, as I’ve said before, illegal aliens are good for Democrats (expand their voter base) and good for U.S. businesses (millions more consumers and cheap labor).

Plus building and staffing detention facilities and shelters for illegal men, women, and children creates thousands of jobs in U.S. cities and towns. Never mind that it’s at taxpayer expense.

Www.foxnews.com – Illegal Immigrants Costs U.S. $113 billion a year study finds.

As for Mexico, the flow of illegals into the U.S. and the tens of billions of dollars they send back, plus the tens of billions of dollars in drug profits smuggled back into Mexico are huge benefits to the Mexican economy.

Why build a border wall and spoil a good thing? Right Mr. Vela?

Not included in this letter are the murders, rapes, vehicular homicides, robberies, burglaries, assaults, etc. committed by illegals.
